“May a thousand incubators bloom!!” Atal Incubation Centre-BIMTECH helps institutions set up their Incubation Centers
“It is easy to start an incubator but it is difficult to make it sustainable and successful. We made a lot of mistakes in our journey but with this program, we want to help the new incubators to reduce their learning curve and become successful in a shorter time frame. Dr. Abha Rishi, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre-BIMTECH. It is with this concept in mind that the pilot program of AIC-BIMTECH’s Incubation Center Development Program (ICDP) was launched in the august presence of Mr. Manglesh Yadav, Program Director at NITI Aayog. Mr. Abhishek Tiwari – Associate Director of KPMG, who is a part of the StartinUP team, Dr. Sanjukta Badhai – Evangelist at Startup Odisha and Mr. Somveer Anand, CEO and Mission Director of Innovation Mission Punjab.
The AIC-BIMTECH incubator, which is one of the fastest growing incubators, believes it’s challenging to create a successful incubator or accelerator, but the finest ones support their entrepreneurs as they transform their ideas into profitable ventures. Performing this challenging but crucial role in fostering high-potential entrepreneurs is by no means easy. Therefore to improve entrepreneurs’ access to incubation support, Atal Incubation Centre- BIMTECH successfully launched the Incubation Center Development Program (ICDP), which will enable the budding incubators to design and implement world class entrepreneurship programs, make their institution sustainable, build credibility and strengthen the incubation support in India.
Eminent speakers, including Mr. Manglesh Yadav, Program Director at NITI Aayog, spoke at the launch of the Incubation Center Development Program (ICDP), inspiring the participants by saying, “We will not leave any stone unturned until and unless we achieve sustainability in the innovation ecosystem and provide opportunities for startups
“incubators are a key pillar of the Indian startup ecosystem”, adds Dr. Sanjukta Badhai – Evangelist at Startup Odisha. She also provides an overview of the various schemes and support that are available for incubators in Odisha.
Mr. Somveer Anand, CEO and Mission Director of Innovation Mission Punjab, mentioned “When you look at an incubator, I want you to think of it as the nursery school of startups
I am so happy to see this kind of program being developed by AIC-BIMTECH and I am ready to support this program”, expresses Mr. Abhishek Tiwari – Associate Director of KPMG, who is a part of the StartinUP team.
The objective of the Incubation Center Development Program (ICDP) is to develop the capacity of the new incubators by providing exposure to the best practices adopted by the incubator. The program will focus on developing the incubator model by creating pipelines for potential incubatees, providing one-on-one mentoring, creating a suitable fünnel for mentors, investors, and other key players in the startup ecosystem, developing a sustainable business model, and would be more practical driven.
“What we are going to try in this program is to help hand-hold each of the incubators to reach that pillar and support them to become sustainable in the long run. The incubators in this program are from the states of UP, Panjab, and Odisha,” says Dr. Abha Rishi – CEO at AIC-BIMTECH.
