Overview of AIC BIMTECH
The Government of India has set up the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. The overarching purpose of this mission is to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Under this mission, the Government is planning to create high-class incubation facilities across various parts of India with suitable physical infrastructure in terms of capital equipment and operating facilities, coupled with sectoral experts' availability for mentoring the startups. Accordingly, AIM proposes to support the establishment of Atal Incubation Centre (AICs) that would support innovators and startup businesses in their pursuit to become successful entrepreneurs. The scheme would be known as the Atal Incubation Centre scheme. The objective of the scheme is to promote and establish an incubation Centre's in India which would support and encourage startups in specific subjects/sectors such as manufacturing, transport, energy, health, education, agriculture, water and sanitation etc. and would provide them with necessary infrastructure facilities and other value-added services. There are currently 92 startups working under AIC and availing the facilities of an incubatee, starting with infrastructure, co-working and co-living space, peer-to-peer learning, mentoring sessions, fundraising, and formulating marketing strategies and other related guidance. The companies here are working on smart and innovative ideas and continuously pivoting their models for good under the correct direction of mentors from various sectors. The startups working for society's betterment are receiving grants for as low as 1% interest rates. At the correct times, funds' availability supports the startups to work for the community with even more dedication and enthusiasm.
